  Tanker Driver Opportunity at SMT/Open Country Dairy

About Us

Open Country Dairy, New Zealand’s largest independent dairy processor and exporter of premium whole milk powder, is seeking professional truck drivers who take pride in their equipment to join the exceptional team at Southern Milk Transport. Based in Waharoa at the Open Country sites, our pristine fleet and dedicated team ensure the safe and efficient transportation of our products from farms across New Zealand.

About the Role

Southern Milk Transport is expanding and offering multiple opportunities for Class 5 truck drivers who excel in transporting goods safely and efficiently from suppliers to the factory. 

This is a full-time, permanent role with rostered shift of 2 days, 2 nights and 4 days off. Hours are annualised and can be completed during the dairy season (August to May), providing the option for paid time off during June and July. Overtime may also be available.

Responsibilities

  • Operating  heavy commercial vehicles safely and efficiently
  • Communicating effectively with our farmer suppliers
  • Contributing positively to our team culture
  • Following all health and safety procedures


Skills & Experience

 What You Need to Succeed

  • A current, clean Class 5 licence
  • At least one year of truck and trailer experience
  • A demonstrated commitment to health and safety best practices
  • A high level of motivation and professionalism
  • Expereince in EROAD and M2X favourable
